Relating Mass to Angular Momentum and Charge in 5-dimensional Minimal Supergravity
We prove a mass-angular momentum-charge inequality for a broad class of maximal, asymptotically flat, bi-axisymmetric initial data within the context of five-dimensional minimal supergravity. We further show that the charged Myers-Perry black hole initial data are the unique minimizers. In addition, we establish a rigidity statement for the relevant BPS bound, and give a variational characteriz...

Witten has argued that in 2+1 dimensions local supersymmetry can ensure the vanishing of the cosmological constant without requiring the equality of bose and fermi masses. We find that this mechanism is implemented in a novel fashion in the (2+1)-dimensional supersymmetric abelian Higgs model coupled to supergravity. The vortex solitons are annihilated by half of the supersymmetry transformatio...
متن کاملCosmological constant and soft terms in supergravity.
Some of the soft SUSY breaking parameters in hidden sector supergravity model depend on the expectation value of the hidden sector scalar potential, 〈Vh〉, whose tree level value is equal to the tree level cosmological constant. The current practice of calculating soft parameters assumes that 〈Vh〉 = 0. Quantum correction to the cosmological constant can differ from the correction to 〈Vh〉 by an a...

We argue that there are no axially symmetric rotating monopole solutions for a Yang-Mills-Higgs theory in flat spacetime background. We construct axially symmetric Yang-Mills-Higgs solutions in the presence of a negative cosmological constant, carrying magnetic charge n and a nonvanishing electric charge. However, these solution are also nonrotating.
